Richmond Motor Group selected Smart AI Core to modernise one of its largest automotive sites in Portsmouth, covering Hyundai, Skoda, Suzuki and MG showrooms, customer parking, valet bays, workshops and restricted staff areas. The goal was to replace fragmented CCTV with a proactive, centrally managed security platform that could support local teams and overnight remote dispatch.
The site had old and unreliable CCTV, failed hard drives, multiple isolated NVR systems, separate logins, difficult evidence retrieval and no centralised monitoring. Vehicle damage disputes, unauthorised access, scrap metal theft attempts and unstable VPN access for overnight security staff made incident response slow and frustrating, especially when IT support was unavailable outside normal hours.
Smart AI Core deployed a complete enterprise UniFi AI ecosystem with 100+ AI cameras, three UniFi AI Keys, an enterprise ENVR, centralised video management, smart zoning, AI event analytics, mobile and smartwatch alerts, UniFi access control and a rebuilt remote security dispatch environment. The network was also optimised with UniFi switching, aggregation switches and SFP fibre uplinks to support the scale of surveillance traffic.
Richmond Motor Group Portsmouth now has centralised camera management, faster incident detection, improved vehicle tracking, easier police reporting, more reliable remote access and simpler overnight monitoring workflows. AI detections and smart zoning reduce the burden on operators by highlighting important events automatically rather than forcing staff to watch hundreds of live feeds manually.
